Thanksgiving to all you Pilgrims

To All Ye Pilgrims: Inasmuch as the great Father has given us this year an abundant harvest of Indian corn, wheat, beans, squashes, and garden vegetables, and has made the forests to abound with game and the sea with fish and clams, and inasmuch as He has protected us from the ravages of the savages, has spared us from pestilence and disease, has granted us freedom to worship God according to the dictates of our own conscience; now, I, your magistrate, do proclaim that all ye Pilgrims, with your wives and little ones, do gather at ye meeting house, on ye hill, between the hours of 9 and 12 in the day time, on Thursday, November ye 29th of the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred and twenty-three, and third year since ye Pilgrims landed on ye Pilgrim Rock, there to listen to ye pastor, and render Thanksgiving to ye Almighty God for all His blessings.

Scams aimed at United Methodists

There have been reports of phone scams of people misrepresenting themselves as church officials asking for money and emails requesting credit card information. According to an article by Sybil Davidson in the October edition of the Advocate, there are three scams. The first is a person claiming to be a United Methodist Bishop saying that his daughter has broken down and needs you to buy her a prepaid credit card to get back on the road. Another is a person calls a church to speak to the pastor about someone with AIDS and solicits donations to an organization that does not exist. A third is an email from a false United Methodist Council that asks for a credit card number. The United Methodist Church will never solicit funds though an email. All matters of money come though the mail on official letterhead. It is important to thoroughly research any organization before making any donation.

Message from Pastor White

To the Children:

Now that School has started it is time to think about the good times we had on Summer Vacation and Start thinking about getting down to work. Do you like to do homework? Probably not, but it is an important time when we are in School. Make time for study. When you come home from school before you do other things. Have a quiet time for Study each day. It is difficult to
Study when you have other things on you mind. Make time for Study, and also make time for Jesus. Jesus wants us to do what is most important. Listen to Him, Learn from Him. Think about the wonderful things he has done for us. Pray.It is most important to pray and give thanks to Him for what He has done for us. Don’t’ be distracted by other things in life. Remember, give time to your studies each day, and pray for God’s guidance each day He will be your guide.

We welcome you to our friendly Church if you are searching for a worship time on Sunday.

Morning Service is at 9:30 A.M

And Sunday School is at 10:45A.M.

Have a Blessed Day and remember to Study and Pray each Day.
